Bio: John graduated from Harvard University in 1984 and from the University of Connecticut Law School in 1991. Upon admission to the Bar he immediately went to work defending people charged with crimes at the New Hampshire Public Defender. For six years he defended people in misdemeanor and felony cases. He tried dozens of cases before judges and juries in Hillsborough, Rockingham, and Strafford counties. He also argued appeals before the New Hampshire Supreme Court. The cases he tried ranged from misdemeanor DWI and simple assault cases to felony cases of embezzlement, aggravated felonious sexual assault and homicide. Over the course of preparing and trying these cases and countless others that did not go to trial, John learned the importance of knowing his client, knowing the case, and knowing the law. After six years as a New Hampshire Public Defender, John moved to Albany, New York and continued his criminal defense practice. For three years he defended people charged with crimes both as a public defender and as a private attorney. In private practice, he also expanded his skill set. He practiced with an insurance defense firm and defended personal injury, motor vehicle accident, and medical malpractice cases. Additionally, at his own law practice in New York, he represented plaintiffs in personal injury matters and real estate cases. In 2000, John returned to the New Hampshire Public Defender and tried scores of more criminal cases before judges and juries, in Hill
