Bio:Kathryn G. Carlson, Esquire, has extensive experience in family law. After law school, she became a judicial law clerk to a judge in the Family and Orphans Court Divisions of the Court of Common Pleas of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In 1980, when no-fault divorce and the equitable distribution of marital property came to Pennsylvania, Ms. Carlson helped draft the Bucks County Court rules implementing the new law. In 1982, Ms. Carlson was appointed as the first Bucks County Master in Divorce. She developed many of the procedures still used by the current Family Masters Office. As a divorce Master, Ms. Carlson presided over master's hearings on the issues of the equitable distribution of marital property, alimony, awards of counsel fees and grounds for divorce. In 1984, Ms. Carlson left the Masters Office to join the Law Office of Susan Devlin Scott, where she dealt with all aspects of divorce, support, marital agreements and child custody. Her partner, Susan Devlin Scott, became a judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1990 and Ms. Carlson took over the firm under the name of The Law Office of Kathryn G. Carlson. Ms. Carlson practices in both the Bucks County and Montgomery County Courts. In the last 25 years, Ms. Carlson has dealt with the full range of Family Court matters.
