Told Me to Plead Guilty When Innocent -

commentMy wife made a false police report accusing me of assault. I told Mr Burton I was innocent. Since I have no record whatsoever, not even traffic tickets, Mr Burton told me to "just plead guilty", claiming the "police officer will just lie". Subsequently during a court ordered psychological evaluation my wife admitted the incident never happened and claimed to the psychological evaluator "the police overreacted and made it up". Shelterhouse, who was supposed to represent my wife turned on her and decided to represent me as the victim if it went to trial. I made this aware to Leland Burton and he still told me to plead guilty to a charge I was completely innocent of.
Please keep this in mind if you are innocent and have Leland Burton as a public defender. There may be conflict of interest as the court that charges you also pays his salary.
