Bio:A graduate of Boston University ’90 and University of Baltimore School of Law ’94, Ms. Martz is admitted to the Maryland Court of Appeals, the United States District Court of Maryland, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Martz taught Criminal Law in the Criminal Justice Program at Frederick Community College for many years, was past Board Member and current member of the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorney’s Association, member of Frederick County Defense Attorney’s Association, past Frederick County recipient of the Outstanding Young Marylander Award and is most proud to have been involved in the release of several people who have been wrongfully convicted. She is a past recipient of the Hoffberger Prize for Professional Ethics. Ms. Martz was honored recently by the Lifer’s Group at the Maryland House of Corrections-Hagerstown for her willingness to lecture and provide pro bono advice to inmates on how to recognize legitimate issues and how to get their case heard. She was also invited to present at the Maryland Judicial Institute (Topic: Evidence in Criminal Law).A native of Frederick County and actively involved in her community, Ms. Martz was privileged to be the first woman counsel to the Frederick County Agricultural Society, a position where she served for more than a decade and remains a Life Member.
