Bio:	I consider myself a proud citizen of Athens, Georgia, though I am originally from Chesapeake, Virginia. I graduated from The College of William and Mary in 1995, and then pursued a career playing guitar in a heavy-metal band in New York. After a year, my band-mate and I moved to Georgia, where our band played and recorded in the Athens music scene for several years. I ran a small recording studio and produced all genres of music for various bands. I loved recording, but I wanted a new challenge, so in 2002 I moved to Los Angeles to attend law school. I planned to study music-related law, but I was immediately drawn to the trial and litigation aspects of the legal profession. I interned both at a medical malpractice defense firm, and at the LA County District Attorney’s Office. I graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in 2005, passed the California Bar Exam, and moved right back to Athens. After passing the Georgia Bar Exam, I worked as a prosecutor in the Athens-Clarke County Solicitor’s office. My legal cases focused on DUI and domestic violence. After three years as a prosecutor, I left the Solicitor’s Office and joined an insurance-defense firm in Athens where my primary assignment was defending car-wreck cases for insurance companies.
