Bio:Matthew F. Havice came to Jimerson Cobb, P.A., in February of 2012 from a prominent statewide firm, where he was the Senior Associate in their Liability Defense and Construction Departments and practiced extensively in the areas of construction, mass tort liability, premises liability and automobile/trucking negligence. Following graduation from law school, Mr. Havice served as a Staff Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, where he performed legal research and drafting for Circuit Court Judges in Clay, Nassau and Duval Counties. He assisted the Judges with issues including illegal sentencing, ineffective assistance of counsel, prosecutorial misconduct, and suppression of evidence at trial. In 2007 he was appointed by Donald R. Moran, Jr., Chief Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit, as a Special Master and presided over evidentiary hearings ordered by the First District Court of Appeals, reporting his findings directly to District Court of Appeals. He currently represents individuals, corporations, financial institutions and businesses in litigation matters including contractual disputes, business torts, commercial and residential construction, banking and foreclosure actions, and personal injury matters. Born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Mr. Havice moved to Jacksonville in the summer of 2003 after graduating from The Pennsylvania State University, where he was a member of the Golden Key National Honors Society.
