Bio:My practice has always been trial work, including over 150 jury verdicts and over 50 Judge verdicts, while handling thousands of cases for clients that were settled. I argued before the United States Supreme Court, the 5th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeals, the Florida Supreme Court, and all 5 of the Florida Disrict Court's of Appeal. My wife and I have 3 trial lawyer sons and 1 trial lawyer daughter in law. We have 8 grandchildren. I am a tournament tennis player and active skier. We travel frequently, are active in the American Bar Association, particularly the House of Delegates, the Tort, Trial, and Insurance Practice Section, and the Senior Lawyers, the Maritime Law Assn., the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and the Miami-Dade Ciunty Bar Assn. Board of Directors. I taught Trial Advocacy to seniors at the University of Miami School of Law for 10 years. I was an equity partner in the law firm of Shutts and Bowen in Miami for 40 years, the longest of any partner in the firm's 102 year history.
