Bio:I became an attorney in 1974. I was admitted to the State of Ohio and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. I was in private practice until 1980, when a client hired me to be in-house counsel and controller of his machine shop. I returned to private practice in 1983 and remained a private practitioner until 1994. I became an Assistant Attorney General for Ohio and served as in-house counsel for the state mental health hospital in Cincinnati. In 1997, I took a position as Executive Director of the University Institute for Psychiatry and Law and as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. I was the director of the Department Of Psychiatry's Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship. I taught various courses to Residents and Fellows in the Department, and I also taught first-year medical students medical ethics and "Death, Dying, and Grieving." I served on the Univeristy Hospital's Ethics Committee and Jewish Hospital's Ethics Committee. In 2002, I returned to private practice, and in 2003, I received my Master of Laws in Taxation. Since 2002, my practice has primarily focused on Elder Law, Estate Planning, Probate, Special Needs Trusts, and Tax Controversy work.
