While at Alabama, Richard was a Senior Editor of the Journal of the Legal Profession, the recipient of the Dean Thomas W. Christopher Prize, and won awards for the best paper in the courses of Decedent’s Estates, Patents and Copyrights, and Estate Tax. He also was admitted as a member of Order of the Coif.
