Bio: Attorney J. Scott Herman, Esq. was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He attended Jesuit High School, a private Catholic preparatory school, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He received an academic scholarship to attend Florida State University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminology. While an undergraduate, Scott was involved in numerous on-campus organizations and as a senior, was selected to be on the University’s Homecoming Court. After a campus-wide vote, Scott was selected as the 1998 Homecoming Chief of Florida State, a school with over 30,000 students. He was honored at halftime of the Homecoming football game.After college, he continued his education at Florida State University by attending its College of Law. While in law school, Scott attained a highly competitive Summer Judicial Clerkship within the Sixth Judicial Circuit. During his time as a judicial clerk, Scott helped answer post-conviction motions for the Circuit Court Judges while doing research on complex trial questions. It was during that time while observing court proceedings that Scott realized he wanted to practice criminal law upon graduation.Once he graduated from law school in 2002, Scott was offered a position as an Assistant State Attorney in the 9th Judicial Circuit in and for Orange County, Florida.
