Bio:Representative Cases: I have practiced and won before the Kentucky Court of Appeals, reversing a negative judgment in my client's case. The case was remanded to the circuit court and later successfully settled on very favorable terms. I have tried countless cases to judges in state circuit and district courts. I have successfully tried cases in front of juries. I have appealed many cases and have never had a motion for discretionary review to the Court of Appeals denied. | | I am an experienced trial lawyer who fights for justice on behalf of my clients. I have been an attorney for 10 years, over 8 of those years were in public service at the Legal Aid Society (LAS). At LAS I represented low-income people in and around the Louisville, KY area. My practice area was in civil litigation and I helped hundreds of people in and out of the courts. I represented tenants whose landlords were trying to unlawfully evict them; I fought against banks trying to foreclose against homeowners in our community; I helped victims of domestic violence in divorces; and I assisted the disabled in maintaining their benefits. Representing low-income people against big banks, slumlords, and other parties with more resources was an important educational experience. I am bringing that experience with me to Abney & McCarty to help working people who do not have the same resources as their employers. I look forward to working for you.
